The Stolen Scream

I was really shocked after watching this video. I really feel bad for the artist because he basically had his art stolen and used multiple times without his permission. As I was watching the video, I couldn’t believe how many times his art was used in magazines, online, and even books. If this happened to me, I would feel so depressed because knowing that many people used and sold whatever I created is just heartbreaking. Especially if my art piece is being used by huge companies that are making a whole lot of money and knowing that I won’t even have a share in the money they are making. I couldn’t find any examples of another artist that had something like this happen to them, but I know that they would also feel the same way that Noam Galai felt when he had his art stolen and used. If someone used your artwork without your permission then it is called Copyright infringement. This happens when someone wrongfully uses your artwork without your permission or does anyt...

Deep Fakes... For Good????

After learning about using deep fake technology to recreate moving portraits, I think it is a bad use of this technology because why recreate a moving portrait of your deceased family members or otherwise when you already have an actual portrait of them. It will also make it feel unnatural. Having this type of portrait will also make me miss them more. At the same time it is pretty cool and how people came up w...

Can Photoshoppers go too far???

Image
After watching the videos, I caught a lot of good points. One of the many points was that photoshop isn’t always a good thing because sometimes it can really take away the meaning of the actual photo. For example one mouse click can change the colour of an image to make it look vintage or brighter. It can also be used to remove objects that you may find annoying in your photo or even combine two different photos to make one whole picture. I think that photoshop is best used for retouching photos, like removing objects that bother you such as a lamp post that is behind you or a kite that is randomly flying in the air. It also could be best used for art pieces and projects. To me I think that there is a line that you shouldn’t cross when you are photoshopping and that is going too far. For example don’t make drastic changes when you are photoshopping to the point where you or the view looks very different to how it looks in real life because you may make someone...
